3,700 Naogaon Farmers Receive Free Seeds and Fertilizers Under Govt Program

Small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs including Aman rice seeds, vegetable seeds, and fertilizers on July 6.

A total of 3,700 small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs on July 6, 2026, under the government's agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme. The distribution took place at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium and was inaugurated by Naogaon-5 lawmaker Zahidul Islam Dholu.

The agricultural inputs distributed to farmers included high-yielding transplanted Aman rice seeds, summer onion seeds, vegetable seeds, tree saplings under the plantation programme, and DAP and MOP fertilizers. This initiative aims to support small and marginal farmers during the upcoming Aman planting season.

Naogaon district is known as one of Bangladesh's major agricultural regions, with approximately 80 percent of its land under cultivation. The district produces significant quantities of rice, wheat, mangoes, and vegetables. This government support programme is designed to help farmers increase productivity and improve their livelihoods.

The distribution programme represents part of the government's broader efforts to strengthen food security and support rural communities across the Rajshahi Division. Farmers from across the district's 11 upazilas, including Atrai, are eligible to benefit from such agricultural support initiatives.
