Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicts rainfall activity will increase over northern regions including Rajshahi division in the next five days.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that rainfall activity may increase over the northern part of the country in the coming five days, according to its latest weather bulletin.
The forecast indicates that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions, while weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across Bangladesh during this period. The meteorological department has advised residents to stay alert for temporary gusty winds during thunderstorms.
The increased rainfall comes during the crucial Aman rice growing season. Farmers in northern districts including Naogaon are currently tending to their Aman paddy fields, which benefit from moderate rainfall at this stage of crop development. The timely rains could support healthy crop growth ahead of the November-December harvest period.
