Prime Minister inaugurated three-day innovation fair yesterday featuring 1,000+ technologies in agriculture, health, and education from universities and startups.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated a three-day Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026 yesterday at Novo Theatre, Bijoy Sarani in Dhaka. The fair, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology with the theme "Innovate to Market", showcases more than 1,000 innovations in technology, agriculture, health, education, environment and business sectors.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of turning home-grown innovations into commercial products and connecting them directly with the market. The event brings together 73 public and private universities, government and private research organisations, independent researchers, students, startups, small and medium enterprises, and global investors.
Organizers explained that many promising technologies developed at the grassroots level fail to reach implementation due to lack of policy support, initial funding and institutional cooperation. The fair aims to remove administrative and financial barriers while ensuring intellectual property protection and commercial expansion for local innovators.
A special international session titled 'Healthcare Innovation for All: Expanding Access to Affordable and Inclusive Healthcare' will be held today. The fair seeks to build sustainable partnerships among innovators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, educational institutions, financial institutions and development partners across Bangladesh.
