Over 3,700 small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs including seeds and fertilizers under the government's incentive program on July 6.
A total of 3,700 small and marginal farmers across Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs on July 6, 2026, under the government's agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme. The distribution took place at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium with Naogaon-5 lawmaker Zahidul Islam Dholu serving as chief guest.
Farmers received high-yielding transplanted Aman rice seeds, summer onion seeds, vegetable seeds, tree saplings, and DAP and MOP fertilizers. The programme aims to support farmers throughout the district, including those in Atrai Upazila, ahead of the important Aman rice planting season.
Speaking at the distribution event, MP Zahidul Islam Dholu emphasized that the government's agricultural incentive programme is designed to reduce production costs for small and marginal farmers while increasing agricultural output. He urged farmers to make effective use of the government support to achieve higher production in the coming season.
The agricultural inputs are part of broader efforts to strengthen food security and support rural livelihoods across the region. Small and marginal farmers, who form the backbone of Bangladesh's agricultural sector, will benefit directly from this assistance as they prepare their fields for the upcoming Aman cultivation.
