Over 3,700 small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs including rice seeds and fertilizers on July 6, 2026.
A total of 3,700 small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs on July 6, 2026, under the government's agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme. The distribution took place at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium, inaugurated by Naogaon-5 lawmaker Zahidul Islam Dholu.
Farmers received high-yielding transplanted Aman rice seeds, summer onion seeds, vegetable seeds, tree plantation seeds and saplings, as well as DAP and MOP fertilizers. The programme aims to support small and marginal farmers in the district during the current agricultural season.
This government initiative comes at a crucial time for farmers in Naogaon, one of the major rice-producing regions in northern Bangladesh. The free distribution of quality seeds and fertilizers is expected to help farmers prepare for the upcoming Aman rice season and improve their crop yields.
The agricultural support programme is part of broader government efforts to strengthen food security and support rural livelihoods across Bangladesh. Naogaon district, including Atrai Upazila, plays a significant role in the nation's rice production.
