Small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs including Aman rice seeds, onion seeds, and fertilizers under government incentive program.

A total of 3,700 small and marginal farmers in Naogaon district received free agricultural inputs on July 6, 2026, under the government's agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme. The distribution programme was inaugurated at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium by Naogaon-5 lawmaker Zahidul Islam Dholu.

The inputs distributed include high-yielding transplanted Aman rice seeds, summer onion seeds, vegetable seeds, tree saplings, and DAP and MOP fertilizers. These materials are intended to help farmers prepare for the upcoming Aman rice planting season, which typically begins in July and August across Bangladesh.

Speaking at the event, MP Zahidul Islam Dholu explained that the government's agricultural incentive programme aims to reduce production costs for small and marginal farmers while increasing agricultural output. He urged farmers to make effective use of the government support to achieve higher production.

The Aman rice season is the second-largest rice crop in Bangladesh, accounting for approximately 38-39% of the country's total annual rice production. Farmers in Atrai Upazila and throughout Naogaon district will benefit from this support as they begin transplanting Aman rice seedlings during the monsoon season.
